Membership Luncheon: A Conversation with Dr. Sergio Gonzalez of Kaiser Permanente

Born in Mexico City, Dr. Gonzalez moved with his family to Santa Monica at the age of nine. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, and following graduation worked with the quantitative EEG team focusing on depression and functional MRI. He later pursued postgraduate work at UC San Diego, where he met his wife. Seeking advanced training, Dr. Gonzalez completed a fellowship in obstetrics at Natividad Medical Center and has since practiced Family Medicine with operative obstetrics for five years at a federally qualified health center and the county hospital in Salinas. In addition to patient care, he has served as a staff physician and clinical instructor for residents, medical students, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.

Dr. Gonzalez’s training in rural and underserved settings has equipped him to practice full-scope Family Medicine, providing care from newborns to centenarians. With additional expertise in advanced obstetrics, he is highly skilled in both general and operative obstetric care.
